Have just started to re-commission a 1977 V12 Series 2
Coupé. The engine is now up and running, but needs a bit
of TLC, but the auto box was N/O, which it was before
being left dry stored for around 8 years. The dipstick was
showing less than min, so put in 1/2 litre of Dexron &
still low so put in another 1/2 litre, and now above max.
Problem is I thought putting in the missing fluid level
would solve the problem, but obviously not! It functioned
A1 before, what has caused the N/O of the box?

 

Torque converter, maybe ? If this passes no drive from the engine, you'll have no gears. I assume from your post, there is nothing, even reverse.

 

Thx Fraser, no there's nothing happening in any gear, even with foot on the brake a revving slightly!

 

Has someone pinched the prop shaft?

As per Fraser.

But check the shifter to box couplings.

 

Why are props expensive/rare😜. Not checked shifter to box couplings as still peed off😢. Thx Dave.
