Good afternoon,

I am about to change a left side gas tank in a Federal 1986 XJ-6. I have done several but with this one I will take down the exhaust to give good access to the bolt behind it.

In the past I have been fortunate with the vent line at the fuel filler cap. Hummmmm I can remember needing to remove the rear seat for some issue. This time I am thinking of leaving it attached and just loosening the cap but NOT removing it. Hoping to simply have gravity remove the tank and then wiggle the new tank in place “holding/adjusting the cap” .

Any ideas or comments.
