Default XJ Coupe Seat Recline Lever Part #?

Anyone know the part number for the seat recline levers on the XJ coupe? I'm talking about the chrome ones that on a saloon would be BD33992. On the coupe they are shorter and there is a left and right.

might they be the same ones used in the XJ-S V12 Coupe ?? I have a pair of those and they are shorter than the ones in my Series 3 XJ-6.

Unfortunately, I think these were unique to the XJ Coupe.

You might very well be right, because I just went out to look at my Series 2, and my recline lever is a Lot longer than the one you show above. Of course, I don't think my seats are original anyway as the PO "modified" quite a lot of stuff.

Hi, They are sided unlike the 4 dr that uses the same part for both, looks like BD 42677 RH Side, BD42678 LH Side. Unfortunately the XJS is a different part number. Regards Simon

The recline levers I see on eBay vary in length, but these look very long for sedan levers.

those look like Series 3 levers on eBay. Identical to the ones in my 1984 XJ-6. Very obnoxious levers, they must be pulled up at a very long travel for them to unlock the reclining back.

Compared to the reclining levers in my minivan which are very short and require just a little pull up and before you know it you're laying flat on your back.

I am going to try the XJ-S levers in my XJ-6 seats.

Default Ahhh !

He is looking for XJC levers which are very long. These look like they might fit an XJC if the hub fits.

I'm looking for XJ Coupe levers like the one in the pictures. I'm actually only looking for the drivers side. I have three passenger side ones and no driver's side ones.

My advice on some of these things is buy the pair if not insanely expensive. All this stuff is disappearing. I have a 77 XJC !

I’m totally fine with buying a pair but in more than a year of scanning eBay, I haven’t seen one, much less a pair come up.

Unfortunately the eBay link you posted is for sedan levers not coupe ones. The coupe ones are those in the pictures of the green seats.

Default Length

Maybe, but they look as long as those in my XJC. Ask the seller to measure them.

Post some pics of the ones in your ‘77. It sounds like a PO put in the sedan ones. The original coupe handles are a different shape and there is a left/right variant. The sedan ones, like that in the eBay link you sent, are the same on both seats.

They are mirror images of each other and not identical - on both sides they are flat on the seat side and on top while curved on the bottom.

You have the correct coupe left and right ones. As you can see, they are a different shape and length from the sedan ones. Beautiful interior by the way!
