Default XJ12; 3CU LUCAS;excluding injectors?

Is the mentioned D jetronics ECU (3CU LUCAS 83477 B) capable of excluding injectors when engine temperature is becoming to high as I read in " Some computer systems are capable of shutting down the injector driver in the event of a short circuit, a severe misfire, or an overheating engine.". Thanks

Not that I am aware of.

It is purely an Analogue processor, and is extremely limited by any of todays standards.

I even doubt the P Digital has that capacity, coz we have EFI looms shorting regularly, and very few engines actually stop running, and the ECU seems to survive.

Even the rather common V12 engine fire has little effect on the actual ECU.

Thanks for info Grant. In the mean time I discovered this very detailled info on D jetronic http://members.rennlist.com/pbanders/ecu.htm Hope you like it...

Thanks for that.

Lots of memories woken up there.

I did my EFI training on the D Jetronic when I worked for Lucas a very long time ago, oh boy.

It is a very simple system, but sadly age is now taking its toll, and mainly with silly things like the various connectors. The rest of that system is fairly bullet proof, unlike the systens of today.

Whoops I brought this thread back from the dead. I thought I was typing on a current thread but this one came up as related.
