XJ12 Thermostat size?

I ordered new thermostats from Barratt for my '77 series 2 XJ12 with fuel injection. They sent 82 degrees. I think I read somewhere that 88 degrees was the correct size. Which is the right size?

You can use either.

For ages and ages....and probably even today.... even Jaguar itself cataloged and sold both the 82 and the 88
