I need to replace the battery in my XJ6 (1972) and I would appreciate your help in finding the suitable one. The specifications available on websites of each manufacturer differ and my current one is missing the specs plate, so I would be grateful if anyone helped me figure out what type should I order. What capacity should I consider ?

the largest automotive battery with the most capacities that will fit in the space available and that will have the correct type of poles in the correct places.

otherwise batteries are not made for any specific vehicle, when you go to a manufacturer's website, they go by the size that fits the vehicle.

Jaguars like a lot of electrical energy, so get the highest capacity battery you can fit.

Yeah. Jose has it. get the one that is sized for the location and has the correct posts for your car. Then as many CCA's as your budget will allow. The GCM's are slick. I've gone through a few!!! But, have gotten quite pricey.

Note, Johnson Controls makes most of the batteries in the USA!!! Different brand names to suit. And probably different spec's as well.

Added note. the heavier, the better. More lead in the plates. That is good.

Thank you for your advice I will definitely follow them while choosing the right one for me.
I am not sure if the ones you mentioned are available in my area, but there is a wide choice of different products on my domestic market so I will certainly find something suitable.
