Default xj6 series 1 dash pad removal help!

Hi everyone,

How do I get the damn dash pad out of the series 1 xj6.

1. I've undone the screws along the front of the pad.
2. Taken the air vents out.
3. Undone the screws under the dash in the middle behind the fuse fascia that comes down so I can access those screws.

Now the dash pad seems to move side to side but is stuck somewhere in the middle.

Is there something I havn't undone or is just the way I maybe trying to pull it out?

Help required urgently before I have my 5 cup of tea trying to figure this out.

Cheers Sue

Thanks for all the views but no need to answer now as I found the culprits.

It was two very loose screws in the middle of the dash pad.

I just pushed down in the middle with my left hand while holding with my right hand via the air vent hole and then gently gave the dash pad an nudge towards me and it just came out over the steering wheel...too easy.

Cheers everyone and job done.

You never mentioned the wires and light under the middle of the pad?
