Default Xj6. series 3 injection manifold

hi all,
My first post of many I hope!I have purchased a complete inlet manifold with sensors, injectors etc all set up as if just taken off a scrapper. On closer inspection I observe slight differance to the set up on my 1986(jan) series 3, 4.2 . There is an extension water housing jacket to the front with a rad cap on it that is not on the one in the car, and a small diaphram housing near the throttle butterfly. are the basic castings the same, or does this set up come from an earlier car, and is not compatible.? Hope someone with far more knowledge than me can throw some light on it. I have been offered the engine and box that this manifold came off. I am told it's all series 3 but are there any major differences between say early and late series 3's that make parts unswappable? Thanks
