Great detailed info. above. For those who might be interested, radio’s have come a long way, mainly in functionality. At 59yrs old I’m not really impressed by the 99 adjustments which are available, but I am impressed by the custom color scheme you can adjust to match interior and/or mood. I do prefer iPod connectivity because I choose particular “playlist” depending on my frame of mind. Doowop,60’s,70’s,80’s, BLUES!(if your married you understand the importance of this option😆 and I like to keep my iPhone screen free from music list. Soooo, for $99 I purchased a Sony GSX-ds80 head unit. Now we all know that when you install an aftermarket radio for your XJ6 the first thing you notice is… IT DOESN’T MATCH the aesthetics of the dash especially with a Trip Computer. With this(and similar radio’s) you can adjust the BUTTON color and the DISPLAY color using a custom RGB chart. Thousands of combinations. I presently chose BUTTON color to match biscuit interior and Trip Computer Green for the display. I then used the attached usb cable in the rear of the unit and ran it through the back of the Glove compartment and connected my iPod. The Sony radio displays everything on the hidden iPod screen and allows you to control functions. No, the radio is not a perfect match to the dash, but it is waaaay better looking than our previous choice’s with aftermarkets. Once you get the above ‘postings’ wiring correct this is a nice upgrade.
Oh I forgot, it connects to the drivers AND the passengers phone simultaneously. Whomever phone rings first gets to conversate through the speaker system.
I have since removed some of that RED from the BUTTON color to better match the BISCUITS.

Yeah, Thanks. PAULSJAG , out of Florida I think, we’re discontinuing the 79-87 stock(only XJ6) with a clearance and had this available. Reproduction ski-slope with ash trays moved back a bit. At the bottom of the to-do list is to trim the bottom of cups 1/2in to allow further drop.
