I hope to be Halifax this week with the Jag. Looks like the weather will be turning it into a converti-pool.....Are there any Jag repairers around the area (just in case,....) ?

Sure is, Allan.
Was a looooong day getting here via Iceland..... (Lucky on a plane !, car took 10 days). Had a "small" problem of the engine quitting when l stopped for fuel in Southampton, yes it still had some petrol (gas) in the tank...hence the repairer question.

And as forecasted its raining here today. Hope they put it under cover as promised, like that's gonna happen eh ?

Car came over by roll on roll off ferry and l'm really looking forward to all that the (un)- civil servants, who named them that ? they're never civil and we all know that they're not servants, can throw at me today when l pick it up. But l am looking forward the rest of the week here as the weather is supposed to get super for my drive around NS

OMG that was easy.....ish. Customs were 5 mins walk from hotel so after a few stamps on some papers all done. Wow..now the 10 min walk to he dock. . . . .
Ahhh that's not so easy he said. Cars at the Auto terminal, the other side of the harbour. Involves a longish taxi drive or the ferry and a bus ride.......so one ferry and bus ride later and a few more bits of paper we're reunited at last.....Yeah baby !!

Suns out today and should get to 20, nice. Gotta remember that 50 means KPH not MPH (unlike yesterday,duh.) forgot that its all metric here

 

And stay on the proper side of the road!

Will do Bill......The car is a LHD model and it's in KPH !!! Just been used to looking at the MPH scale while in the UK with it. Off to Moncton today, hopefully with the top down and the wind in with what's left of my hair......

Low brake fluid light came on so guess l'd better put some in and check the oil level. Book says must use Girlling fluid, Hmm where in Halifax can l find that ??

 

Any Dot 4 brake fluid will be fine. Enjoy the scenery!!

Welcome to Beautiful New Brunswick, We just started painting the trees this week I hope you find the scenery to your liking. The weather should be perfect for going topless at least through the weekend. Where are you headed?

 

What a great topless day........and the colours you painted looked great.
Now stopped just south of Bangor main, on way down to Fl.
Cars running well and returning 16 Lt per 100 km with top down at 70.....aahhhhgggg why did l want the v12...and why do l bragg that's good ???

Can someone please tell me what goes wrong with those pesky back windows.........l never could keep the right one going up all the time so l unplugged it. Guess which window now isn't going up...GRRRRRRRRR. hope its not going to rain anytime soon.

So a small list of whats not working now..
speed control
fuel gauge is in and out
temp gauge also temperamental
now both rear windows...

But hey, the suns out, tops down and the Eagles on the radio.......
You gotta love these cars.....or you'd cry.

Ahh the v12, the loveliest engine Jaguar ever made. Gas mileage, windows, gas gauge, all the rest are simply reminding you that you drive a Jag. You could have had a Prius but have you ever seen anyone grinning driving a Prius at 80? There is an excellent Dealer in Scarborough Maine (near Portland) if it gets to you.

So now l'm in PA (just).

So, roof down and a great run down 95 to Ct. Stopped for lunch and put roof up...,sun was getting a bit much, OMG the window came up...............!!

So your asking "does he drive l95 at 40 mph or what ????"

Sorry to all who were held up getting onto the GW bridge around 4 today....lol
Last time the Jag over heated was waiting to drive through the gotthard tunnel in traffic in 1994. l had forgotten.....Damm should have opened the bonnet (hood) and turned on the heating.

Luckily l managed to get of the road into a roadwork cutout, where l waited for it to cool down a bit. l waited 2 hours until the traffic started to flow better. Funny how people always laugh at a Jag with the bonnet (hood) open. Even got my photo taken.
One guy in all that traffic asked l if l was ok and a breakdown truck tried his luck (only god knows how much that would have cost).
So once traffic was moving l re-joined the rat race.

Didn't Jaguar ever test that V12 cooling system out in traffic.............??

Anyway, temp gauge works again now. lol
Gotta unplug that window tomorrow now that its up.

So back onto I95 tomorrow . . . Just a point though, in 3 days l've seen maybe 4 Jags. go figure.....

 

Hey Jagger, I too had my '89 XJS Convertible in Halifax visiting my daughter last month. -Yes there is a Jag Dealer/Service in Halifax, Steele Motors. -Multi-line dealership(s) but have been doing Jags for decades.

I'm from Saint John NB, and have put 26,000 km on my Big 12 since buying it a year and a half ago. -

Sounds like a great road trip. I'm envious.

Gotta say though, I'm on my third used Jag and none of them have behaved according to "reputation". They never let me down (that sticky rear brake on the Daimler was my fault ).
