Apologies for the probably stupid question. Id rather ask than fry anything old and British.
Im in a bit of a bind, with my trunk lock refusing to accept the key and the battery being dead as a doorknob. I was planning on replacing it anyway, but in order to get to it, I need to get into the trunk first, or jumpstart it and take it to the shop.
Someone on the forum told me that there are terminals under the hood for this purpose. I cant find anything that is obviously a terminal. The closest thing I could find was this bolt on the firewall on the passenger side (RHD car, left side). It was covered by remnants of a rubber boot.
My question is, can I connect another cars positive to this thing and negative to the engine block, and use that to try the central locking and/or jumpstart the car? Or where else should I look?
