Default 14 MPG. Not to shabby...

...considering my vacuum advance has turned to dust in the last 2 months. Can't wait until the new ( actually new manufacture ) comes in. MPG should go up some right?

Here's what I ordered. If anyone is interested in new, adjustable options for their vac adv.

Yes. Perhaps 60/40 Highway/city.

I'm getting 12mpg (mostly city) but I feel like it could be better, there is a slight sporadic puff noise coming from the exhaust pipes that doesn't sound right, although I've probably ran $300 in injector cleaners over the past year so I'd be shocked if its still dirty inside.

I wonder if that *puff* noise is one cylinder occasionally not firing.

Anyway, I get about 14mpg mixed.

Thanks,

I used to get 10-11 L per 100 km (20+ US MPG) when I last used my car, mostly highway. And it was 15 years ago. Anyhow, looking at the price of this little simple unit I figure buying original parts for ignition is probably waste of money. I intend to start using my car again, waiting for it shipped overseas to me. Should any ignition part fail I'll replace the whole thing with Motec. Considering the design of original ignition system is at least 35 years old and there has been major R&D in this area it makes sense to upgrade. The reward is better MPG and more power, and no moving parts means also better reliability. Just my 2¢.

Best bet, in my experience, is to remove the injectors for professional cleaning and evaluation.

A good outfit.....I've used Jaguar Fuel Injector Service many times...will not only clean the injectors but test spray pattern and flow rate and, if needed, provide different injectors so you end up with a balanced set.

Cheers

Ya I've been meaning to send him my spare fuel rail with injectors still attached. I'd bet if my last two fuel filters are any indication the tiny injector filter baskets are clogged with crud.
