1989 Coupe and Convertible Chassis
Hi, it's been a while since I posted here, the Jaguar has been humming along for the last year and a half since I posted. Here is my question. Can I use the front floor pans from a 1987 XJS Coupe in my 1989 convertible? My convertible is so rusted that there is a hole in each side, near the front of the seat, plus the driver's side is cut open along the driveshaft tunnel, and, rusted left of the brake pedal. Is there extra bracing on the convertible that the coupe doesn't have? I have located a rust free coupe!!! in the junkyard. Thanks in advance.

See if anything in this helps. Knowing Jaguar, I bet they didn't retool the floorpans to build the convertible. As far as I know, the 88 H&E was a standard coupe converted.
