1990 XJS Windows not working
Hi Guys,
I replaced the ski slope in my car and now the the windows do not work. They both worked before I decided to replace the slope. LOL... Nuts. Any ideas? I did have to remove the switches to replace the slope. Could I have blown a fuse? I did clean the contacts before reinstalling them. The XJS manual does not show me where a fuse could be. Thanks for your help.

I went ahead and ordered new switches. So far this is the only issue I have ever had with this car. Other then the windows, the XJS drove so smooth today, I did not want to park it... LOL. This Jag even drives smoother then my LS430 and that car is like silk.
I guess I can not complain, if only the windows don't work. Hopefully, it is only the switches. I did clean/soak them pretty good with Electronic cleaner before I reinstalled them during the ski slope replacement. I just never checked them until today. Maybe I should not have sprayed them down with the cleaner? I should have just wiped down the contacts and reused...

I doubt it was the electrical contact cleaner. I slather swithces with the stuff all the time with no problems.
When you plugged the connectors into place did they feel like a good, tight fight on the pins? Often the contacts inside the connector loosen and don't grip the switch pins very well
Cheers

They did seem a little loose and I will try and make a few pin adjustments today. Thanks.

I adjusted the pins to fit a little bit tighter and they still do not work. Hopefully when the new switches show up they solve the problem... Thanks.
