Default 1991 airbag disarm

Hi all. New member here. Tearing the XJS apart to repair the heater core/matrix. Can anyone advise me how to disarm the airbag before I drop the steering column? Seems the tech bulletin covering that never made it to the CD rom manual. That's the only resoure I have. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

It's a mechanical airbag. Just take it out.

Can I just leave it on the streeing wheel and pull the column? I take it you are advising to disregard the warning label on the column? Thanks. KF

I'm advising to remove the airbag, read your manual or find the TSB ( I think it's from 1990) that details the procedure if you don't know how to do it. My other comment refers to the fact that the airbag in a 1991 XJS is not electronically deployed, so the concerns about accidentaly energizing the circuit are moot. Don't put words in my mouth.

Sure didn't mean to offend. I'm really looking for some help here. I appreciate the posts. The OE cd manual I have does not have the TSB, so I don't have the procedure. Thanks.
