Default 1991 XJS Rear brakes (inbound)

Hi,
We have recently bought a 4ltr XJS (1991) and need the rear pads and discs replacing - which are inbound (brakes not being something i will attempt myself!). Do you know roughly what the cost would be (Cornwall, UK)?
Also with ref to the brakes - when applying the brake the car pulls heavily to one side - any thoughts what might be causing this?

Thanks

So many things it could be.
Pads or disc badly worn on one side only (possible but unlikely)

This is most likely going to be wheel alignment as the suspension compresses when the brakes are applied. Or more to the point worn components in the suspension allowing the wheels to move under braking.

I would have a specialist check it out

cheers
Warren
