1994 4.0L front end rebuild
Hi guys. Didnt realize I had started another thread not long ago, Ive decided its time to rebuild the front end on my XJS. Is this a complete kit? Stick with a different manufacturer?

You really should seek out true, bona-fide, genuine Jaguar lower control arm bushings and Lemforder ball joints. More costly and therefore probably not available in the typical "suspension kit". Lots of labor involved replacing them again if they fail prematurely.
The other items in the kit are hit-n-miss as far as quality goes. Hard to know what you're really buying these days
Cheers

Im kinda confused about it all. My subframe bushings are shot so this is what started the whole thing. Im wondering if the entire subframe has to come out or if things can be done on the car. I will be having a mechanic friend of mine doing the work while I help. He has never done a Jag front end before though
Brewtech,
It's possible to change the front suspension on a 4 litre XJS without dropping the subframe.
But your mechanic mist use the correct tool to compress and release the front springs. This is really important.
Good luck
Paul
