Default 1994 6cyl O2 senors

Hi all,

I've been working on a solution to a stalling, starting issue. I get the code for 02 sensor. I bought one but then thought someone said that two are needed for up stream and two for down stream.

I I see one on top of the pipe and a wire that runs to a connector in the engine bay. I don't see anything that would indicate a second. My online repair manual only points to one. How many do I actually need per car??

Thx

Tony

AFAIK you'll need just one.

The two sensor arrangement is for the OBDII engines, 1995-later

Thx, sir. Do you know the best way to get it out? It seems to be in a dip in the pipe work that makes it impossible for the removal tool to get a grip unpon.

'Sometimes', with luck, an open-end wrench will do the trick. Best bet, tho, is to get an O2 sensor socket

Alltrade 1/2 in. Drive 7/8 in. Oxygen Sensor Standard Socket-648442 - The Home Depot

Hi there,

Got old O2 sensor out and the new one in. I took the car for a spin today in the heat of the day (to recreate the stalling issue from last time). I drove on surface streets with no issue. I got onto the highway and up to 75 MPH and it started to stumble/stall. I coasted off the road. After sitting for a few moments, it started and ran fine, just as the last time.

Any thoughts??
