1995 jaguar xjs 4.0
I'm speaking from what I've read, not experience, but I think there is a torx looking fitting right by the gear shifter. I think you can take that out, and insert a screwdriver and release the lock solenoid manually. From what I understand, the lockout solenoid goes bad, and the gear shift can't move. Its one of those "fixes" that keeps the car from being put into gear, without brake pedal being depressed.
