1995 XJS 4.0 convertible gas tank removal help???
Hello again everyone! Everyone has been immensily helpful with my x308 XJR, so now that i have this momentum, id like to go back and tackle my forgotten project: My 1995 Jaguar XJS convertible.
my biggest issue is removing the fuel tank. the only thing in my way is the 2 fuel lines that go into the back left of the fuel tank. They're impossible to reach from the wheel well, and even getting underneath the car doesnt seem to be of any help. i was able to get 2 metal clips off the ends of the fuel lines on the end connected to the gas tank, but theres no room to be able to pull them off. is there some trick to getting them off, or is there something else i have to remove to get these fuel lines disconnected. everyone here has been a massive help, and this has been my biggest speed bump on this car, so any help now would be a blessing! Thank you!

Hi
1995XJSGUY
Been there and done that on my own 1995 XJS 4.0L and in fact I've done it twice!
Now you've got those Clips off 'Don't Lose The Clips!' those hoses just pull off, where apart from Everything! being in the way, the Fuel Tank just pulls out, although it feels like its been Welded in!
You can see my Full Write up including loads of Pics in my Step by Step guide to Removing and Replacing the Fuel Tank as well as Cleaning it out and replacing the Fuel Pump on Page: 91 of my 'Cherry Blossom' Restoration Thread
Here is the Link: Removing and Replacing the Fuel Tank on an XJS 4.0L including replacing the Fuel Pump
Good Luck!
