Default 1995 xjs rear springs

I just bought 4 new Bilstein shocks for the back of my 1995 xjs convertible 4.0 and am thinking maybe I will just buy new springs also. Problem is, the prices range from $44 to $161 per spring. What do I buy? Does anyone have a suggestion for a specific part number? Alldatadiy.com states the part number I should buy is JLM11311 but when I search for it they are either unavailable or substituted for C39692 which I believe is the 5.3 liter springs. Wouldn't these be different ride heights? Also, what would be the indication that I should get new springs? It's a bit bouncy in back thus the shocks but the back is also fairly level with the front instead of a little higher giving it the more aggressive look. I also just found part number jlm10995 but no luck locating those either.

Default Rear Springs

Hi, If you're in North America, I'd suggest phoning Paul's Jaguar or Captain Jaguar. -Both very knowlwgeable people, and their pricing suited me just fine. I replaced the rear springs on my '89 from Paul's, and I believe it was approx. $155.00 for all four springs.

I'm not certain there would be different spring rates for the V12 and I6 for the rear springs, since the majority of the weight difference is carried by the front suspension. The weight on the rear tires of each car should be nearly identical, regardless of which powerplant it uses.

Just my 2-cents but I'd avoid replacing the springs unless absolutley needed.

After many, many years on Jag discussion boards I'd say the success rate on spring replacements is about 50% at best.

OTOH, since you *want* the rear end to be higher, then go ahead. Just hope it isn't too high...as that's the usual outcome, even after allowing time for them to settle.

Cheers
DD
