Are they 15" rims? By 1996, most Jaguar rims were 16"+.

What style are they? Do you have a picture or link to where you found it?

Here's a site that lists OEM wheels, so you can browse and find something that matches:
1994 Jaguar XJS Rims, 1994 Jaguar XJS Wheels at OriginalWheels.com

Here are the original specs:

1976–1996 Jaguar XJ-S/XJS WHEEL BASICS
PCD (bolt pattern): 5 X 4.75" (5 X 120.65mm)
Hub diameter: 73.85mm as measured by digital caliper
Wheel CB (center bore): Published as 73.8-74.1mm based on various sources
Factory ET (offset): 28.5mm
(From: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...-wheels-65576/)

Key thing will be to confirm that they are 5x4.75 with an offset of around 28. Some other later models seemed to have an offset of 35.

So, I would say a tentative "yes", but a little more research needed.

Technically any 15 or larger inch rims with the right bo,t pattern and hub bore will fit the XJ-S (prefacelift). The facelift only had outboard rear brakes and that is the only difference of interesst between both...

You can even fit X300 and X308 rims (20") if you must

Well, as I recently discovered, Teardrop rims with the hubcap and center cap don't clear the front wheel bearing dust (grease) caps.

So I removed the center cap.

I also noted that the Teardrop rims were marked 35 offset. Most XJS are 28 offset.

These are obvious things... But technically nothing you can't check yourself. A lower ET means the rims stick further out (if width is the same) by the difference in mm.

The bearing dustcap can be swapped for something flatter... Etc. But if it was made for an XJS it will fit an XJ-S.

H&Kjaguar,

All XJS from mid-93 used 16" wheels. Lattice wheels were made in 15" or 16". However, the lattice 16" weren't fitted as standard from after April 1994.

If they are XJS Lattice (either 15" or 16") they will fit your 89 car. If you are thinking of upgrading, you really might want to consider going for 16" wheels, for the availability of tyres if nothing else.

Cheers

Paul

Man your not kidding! Finding tires is a nightmare for these 15 inch rims

I think your right about looking for 16 inch rims... I have the 5 star 15's that were original (I believe) to the car and I like them better but was gonna pick up an extra set cause it was cheap and the spear is a latice wheel...

After searching for tires I think I will just try to find factory 16's

THANK YOU !!!!
