Default 1996 XJS 4.0 Service manual CD issue

Good morning,

I have the JHM 1143 service manual. The CD opens the basic menus but none of the PDF files will open; I get the message "something is preventing this PDF file from opening". I've downloaded both the acrobat reader 6.0 and the latest version but nothing works. I've tried several computers with the same result. If anyone has run into this issue and overcome it, I'd appreciate help.

thanks, Mitch

Try installing acrobat off the CDROM. I had a similar issue, I still get error messages when I open the manual but I can pass them and the manual works after that.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and still no joy. I have another CD; I believe it's the 1173 that seems to work fine. I suspect the files on the 1143 are somehow corrupted. Anyone else have any good ideas?

thanks, Mitch

I can't help unfortunately but l too had one of my discs stop working. It does not help that the security is such that the disc needs to be used each and every time information is sought and prevents any backup of the contents.
I am not happy having paid for information l am now unable to access and further annoyed at the lack of any response from jaguar heritage.
