Default V12 FPR

Bonjour,

The V12 has two fuel pressure regulators (FPR). One return and one feed. I know the feed can be ditched... Bit I still will fit one. Regarding the FPR as such: does it matter if original or aftermarket? They range from around €40 for an aftermarket one to €140 for an original...

Cheers

Damien

I've used aftermarket FPRs and Jags and others with no problems, knock wood.

You know my usual view on parts: you really don't now what you're getting these days. Brand name on the box assures absolutely nothing.

Cheers
DD

Indeed you're right Doug. OEM isn't always best...

I can't really be arsed to pay that mich for an FPR will will fail sometime anyway. And howmbad can an aftermarket part be?

Jaguar did away with the inlet FPR from 1992 on the V12, my 6.0L did not have one.

I think the originals were Bosch, so buying a Bosch in a Bosch box rather than in Jaguar box should work well and save a lot of money!

Very common, the Lucas ECU is actually Bosch too.

I swapped mine for a D Manners aftermarket job at less than half the price, works perfectly.

So, I grabbed my two spare FPRs and wanted to make sure they were the right ones... The Bosch numbers are:

0 280 160 229 (2.5 Bar, B-Bank side), Lucas 73232B
0 280 150 712, Lucas 73369A

According to some scources, the 712 is wrong and should be a different one.

Are these numbers right? Just want to make sure I get the right ones as I will be using both (even though one should be enough on the B-Bank side).

The right side (inlet) regulator was specified at 45 psi, the left (outlet) at 36 psi.

Are you sure of the numbers? 0280150712 comes up as a Saab injector, however 0280160712 comes up as a regulator.

The number I am seeing for the inlet side is 0280160234, which is 3 bar. As long as the pressure rating and the fittings are the same, it should be fine to use.

I was lead to believe the one on the inlet size actually works as a fuel damper.
Pre-HE are adjustable, later ones aren't.

The HE regulator can be adjusted but only for more pressure and it is not reversable.
