Hello,
I have a dash light on my 84 xjs,It won't go off even with ign off.
It looks like a lightning bolt .RED IN COLOUR.just above tach.
I have to disconnect my battery,so it doesn't drain overnight.
any ideas would be appriciated..

 

Sounds like the charging system light. I suspect a problem with the diodes in the alternator.

Different thread same mess..
Ok,I can undustand bad Alt,but why is it staying on after ign off?
will alt cause that?Or hopefully not,a short elsewhere..
