Default 88 XJS Lister Kit

So I ended up buying that Jag with the Lister kit in NJ. Car is pretty nice, although it doesn't run. I was hoping to learn a bit more about the history of these kits. were they dealer installed? My car has OZ black wheels with it, were they included in the kits or whats their deal? Anyone else have one of these?

Thanks!

It is what rot there is under the kit panels that is the big question. It is important to remove the extra panels and ensure all is well.
Normally cars were supplied to Lister, a UK company, by the owner and the customer specified what, from a long list of available upgrades, body and engine and drivetrain, they wanted. Nothing to do with the factory AFAIK.

Compare Lister to say Brabus, Alpine (D), Polestar.
