Default 89 XJ-S Spark Plugs

Does anyone have a 3/4" distributor wrench? Or do I really have to remove the AC compressor to remove the 1 and 2 spark plug?

You really do have to remove the AC compressor to get those plugs out. However you don't have to disconnect the lines. Once you remove the bolts and belt, you can lift it out of the way, so it isn't as bad as it sounds.

Don't remove it ! Remove two bolts in the front and two in the rear and just tip the compressor up and out of the way a few inches. Prop it up with a screwdriver. When done just plop the compressor back down and reinstall the bolts. Only takes a few minutes. Easy :-)

Be mindful of the compressor hoses, of course.

Cheers

A crows foot wrench on the end of our spark plugs socket worked rather well.
A lot of turns but it got us there.
