Default 89 xjs more help needed

This car has sat for more than two years. I"ve rebuilt both the fuel injection and engine ignition harnesses. I've done the best that I can do with the right side vacuum connections. Whats up with the supplemental air valve? After numerous other electrical repairs I'm ready to try to get this thing going. I didn't drain the fuel system and or injectors hoping for and easy way out. I can get it to start on starting fluid but it won't keep running. Acts like its not getting fuel. Where do I go from here? Any advise would be appreciated.

The fuel might be a little stale. Or possibly very stale depending on storage conditions.

Also, do you hear the fuel pump run afor a couple seconds when you turn the key 'on'? The is the 'prime' feature

Does the fuel pump operate when you turn the key to "start"? If not, she won't run

Cheers

yeah man dump that fuel. You can turn it over enough to get the bad stuff out of the lines but 2 year old gas isn't going to work

You probably also want to consider changing out the fuel filter.

Thanks. I did disconnect the fuel line off the fuel regulator and pumped out about a gallon of fuel. It came out almost a copper color. I think I might be on to something. What's the best way to drain the tank?

I do have an 89 xjs V12 convertible fuel tank I took out of my parts car. It's in good shape if you have to take your out..... If you do remove yours, suggest you take it to a radiator shop and have them flush it and blow it out...
