Are the FF codes the same for 6 and 12 cyl cars? I have the wrong owner's manual, showing V12 info. Is there a list online of 4.0 codes if they are in fact different? Anyone have a lead on the correct original owner's manual to buy?

FF39?
typically the EGR valve is losing vacuum somewhere. The plumbing at the lower portion of the throttle body gets plugged up by oil.

 

FF39 has never popped. I get FF17, 23 and 26 regularly. 2 of the 3 seem to be "air leaks", so today I took apart the entire assy of air filter can to throttle body. Found both the plastic, curved housing going into the rubber bellows and the bellows itself totally ruined. Someone had tried a real backyard fix on the plastic piece-to-bellows broken and filled with a weird, black "sealant" and the bellows had rips where the sealant stuck to it! Found good used plastic piece on Ebay and new bellows as well.
When new parts installed, should I expect a change in mileage and engine performance? Comments appreciated...
