I'm a new owner of this low mileage and well kept beauty.
I'm driving it often and very concerned about getting parking lot dings in my door panels.
Even though I park out a ways...people continue to park next to me...and kids are not careful.

I've seen numerous photos of after market side mounding on some XJS Convertibles.
Any suggestions where to find this...and recommendations?
I live in Texas.

I have them on mine. They were available as an accessory from Jag in the early '90's. Haven't been available for years now.


Ps I am looking for some replacement parts...Anyone ?

 

This is a big concern of mine also. While I was planning to use some self adhesive mouldings from Pep Boys on my Mustang I was hoping to find something better for my XJS. I've noticed some side mouldings on newer Fords which I think are dealer installed options. These used to be very common a few years ago. I think if you contact any new car dealer's parts counter they can show you what they have available. I will visit my Ford dealer and take a look soon. I know a lot of guys hate to add this kind of stuff but it's so easy to pick up dings. I personally like the big wrap around bumpers on the XJS. I had a '77 Datsun 280z and I liked the big impact bumper because it protected that sensitive nose.
