Default 93XJS 4L tranny surge/buck/slip under partial load

Weird thing happening with my jag....start he up go for a ride, while you push on the throttle, rides fine and shifts fine, no issues but you have to keep your foot on the gas. If you decelerate but still give partial load OR put the car on crusie control, you get a feeling that the tranny jerks or slips.......looking at the book, appears it may be either the TPS since 3 wires from the TPS feed the tranny TCM or the TCM itself. The TPS checks out fine on the voltage wires, not sure how to check the tranny wires or the TCM other than going to the dealer. ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!! Whats causing the bucking action under partial load???????

What you describe sounds a lot like you may have a misfire condition going on. If it's worse at say 40-45 MPH, back off the throttle at a level speed, then lightly start to crowd the throttle for a slow acceleration. That could be a burned through rotor or an ignition coil tower arcing to a Primary Terminal and misfiring.

If that's the case, about the only true correction would be a good set of ignition wires, cap & rotor, and either verify the plugs are good or replace them.

Good luck!
