94 XJS top not coming up.

94 XJS convert. top will not go up. Is there a manual over ride to pull it up?

Yes.

On the pump in the trunk there is a knob on top of the pump that can be turned 90 degrees. That places it in manual mode where it can be moved by hand.

I'm assuming you know that the car must be in Park and the emergency brake must be applied to operate the top?
