ABS accumulator sphere

ABS accumulator sphere
I think my brake accumulator needs replacing.
If I touch the pedal with the ignition on, the red/amber lights immediately light up and I can hear the pump engage. The pump also engages for around 0.5 seconds every 30 seconds with the ignition left on. . Sound to me like the is no pressure in the system at all.
Has anyone replaced it/have any tips?
I see that Jaguar Heritage sell them, but quite expensive at £177. Is anyone aware of an alternative supplier? I'm assuming Jaguar don't manufacture them...

The part number of the item you want is: 25528382
Some time ago they were very cheap on Amazon but they are now long gone. The cheapest I can see on Amazon or EBay now is $195 + shipping & import charges from the USA - at current exchange rates, that makes Jaguar's £177 pretty reasonable if it includes vat. Whilst you're at it, I would replace the pressure switch as well. The part number for the one I bought, again from Amazon is: 25530882

AFAIK, it is easier to remove the pump assembly & hold it in a vice to use an Allen key to remove the accumulator - with the assembly in a vice it should be easy with the appropriate size spanner to unscrew the pressure switch & screw in a replacement.

Make sure the system is depressurized first before undoing any brake connections. It's different to most brake systems, there are specific instructions in the manual on how to do it.
