Default Abs problems

Hi I'm new hear. Could do with a bit of help with my 89 xjs 3.6. My car has been running for years with no problem but I came home in it last week and when I got in it again I had no brakes. No lights are showing on the dash but when you turn ignition on without starting the abs light comes on as normal and goes out as normal but the red brake light doesn't come on at all. The abs pump doesn't run either. I have put power to the pump and I know this still works. I have also changed the yellow and relay and still nothing. I also checked for power in the wire powering the pump which shows no power. Does anybody have any advice thanks.

Doug67,

Could you explain the problem a bit more? When you say you "have no brakes", does that mean when you press the pedal it goes straight to the floor? Or when you press the pedal it is firm but somehow the brakes don't work and won't stop the car?

Paul

Sorry thanks for the reply but it was late here so went to bed. The brake pedal is hard and it will stop but you have to press really hard.
