Default AC Clutch?? Really?

Welp. I planned on heading North this weekend to visit Mary Hull Boh and her friends, and also see Dad and Mom on Sunday, giving the keys to to the Jag to Dad for Fathers Day and basically letting him drive it for the day..... BUT just south of Standish, the clutch on the AC compresser desided to remove itself from the compressor. The pieces that came off decided to blast their way through the radiator, while also dislodging the belt that runs the water pump.

Yep. Car over heated.

Called a towing company in Standish, they hauled me to their shop and thought they could fix it. Replaced the belt, found the holes in the radiator, poured in some kind of sealer for hte holes. We started the engine, let it run, the leaking stopped but the temp still went through the roof..... Then noticed a liquid coming out from the exhaust.... had a bit of a sweet smell to it.

Yep. Blown head gaskets.

SO I had a very enjoyable 4 hour ride back to Roseville, in a rough riding tow truck, swapped stories with the driver with my Jag on the back.... $675 bucks. OUCH.

I *Hate* it when that happens!

Actually, I've never heard of that happening. And that's something you won't see coming no matter how closely you inspect things.

Well, Drat anyway!
And condolences.
