Our 97 XK8 blew a transmission drum. A new heavier one has been installed. Now it is slow to shift from second to third gears and does so with a big clunk. After a bit longer it goes into safe mode and stays in third. It would seem that the problem is with the valve body and possibly some debris hidden inside. Before we disassemble again it would be helpful to have a clutch application chart to figure out which valve to be checking. The code that comes up is 1779 (load control malfunction ) which suggests valve body. If anyone has access to the chart it will save us tremendous frustration. If anyone thinks this diagnosis is incorrect, I'd love to know your thoughts. Thanks
