Default XK8 Suspension Questions:

I'm getting ready to purchase suspension parts for a 2000 XK8 convert - base model. I want to keep the ride as factory as possible. Which Bilstein struts come standard on the early XK8s? I may purchase springs as well. Does anyone here have experience with lowering the car about an inch or so? Any concerns about handling and performance in general? Also, What strut mounts should be installed. I can't seem to locate OEM. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Jagbits or SNG Barrett, the sites couple sponsors can get you everything you need.
I have used both. If you need the parts ASAP Jagbits in my experience is much quicker but cost more, if you can wait use SNG.

If you want to keep the factory ride, lowering springs is not the way to go.

Mention the forum at SNG and get a 10% discount.

Parts Geek has the front upper shock mounts for $116 right now. Good price.

Be sure when you order springs you get the part number for convertibles. They have a different sprint rate than the coupes do. If you are doing coils and shocks, might as well get all the misc. pieces as well, like the bump stop and gaiters.
