I am looking at doing the same for my 90 xjs covert. I was going to contact Paul's Jaguar in Florida and World Uphaulstry. I just haven't gotten that far yet. Any advice would be welcomed.

I have done some research and also contacted Pauls Jaguars in FL The carpet kit from Paul is $695.00 and he has to send you color samples through the mail. I also found another source that has them for $495.00 and you can choose colors online if needed.

Here is the link

Since I am not considering restoring to exact original, I looked for binding for carpets. Binding placement on carpets has and still is expensive, but the material I found reduces cost substantially. Carpets can be bought by the yard in various materal and colors in many stores. I think this is the route I am going to take considering the high cost of ready made carpets... just an FYI

Binding: Instabind - Carpet Binding Tape
and Home Depot

I've just re-carpeted my XJS by buying a few metres of beige household carpet and using the old bits as templates. The only tricky bit was the piece that covers the driveshaft tunnel near the back seats.

For the front and rear mats I cut-out the carpet and had them 'whipped' by a local carpet place. I think the total cost for everything has been about £70 and I'd say the carpet quality is much higher than the originals.

Hope that helps.
