has anyone used other than Castrol dex2 in their automatic box or is it a must use item? many thanks

 

Not sure if you are referring to the brand or the specification. And, what kind of car are we talking about, just out of curiosity?

Anyhow, you can replace Dexron 2 with any of the later iterations of Dexron. No problem.

And any car that has an original spec for Dexron 2 is old enough where brand name won't matter. Castrol, Valvoline, Shell....whatever.

thanks for the reply. its a 1987 3.6 xjs auto. I was referring to the brand name as theres plenty of alternatives out there at a lot less.
