My auxiliary fan motor for my 96 XJS is toast.

I don't believe I need to drop a ton of cash on an available OEM motor (still available on JDHT!), do I?

If someone could recommend something I can purchase in advance to make the swap out on my daily driver, I would certainly appreciate it!

(it might explain why i recently lost my high pressure refrigerant hose...)

Any good quality aftermarket fan that will fit in the space would be good. A SPAL for example, but it must be sufficiently powerful, and the amps drawn by the motor is the most reliable measure of that, as many suppliers exaggerate their CF/min figures wildly.

Well, I took the fan assembly off and bench tested it. It works fantastically well.

I guess it's gonna have to be the hard way....

Grinding sound when energized. Any suggestions? I swapped relays, with no success.

for those interested, the mount holes for the fan motor is 3-3/16".

Also, OEM fan is made by FASCO; part number 2819-420-042

Theres also another number; W961849U and then a floating "38S", for some reason as well as an arrow pointing left.
