Bats in my Bonnet?
So once again I have gone out to cover up my car which I have parked in my backyard. I leave the cover off when the weather is good and hang it on the fence. As I go to throw the cover on it tonight a small brown bat comes flying out. The other day, I had two...one dead and one live come out of the cover.
While they scared the **** out of me when I flip them out of the cover, I am more concerned that the little buggers are nesting under my hood (although I take it for a good drive every weekend).
Anyone ever hear of bats nesting in the hood? Do they chew wiring?

My dad had his 1984 xj-s in storage in our backyard.. It had been sitting for a good two years and he went to crank it to see if it still ran... as he cranks it, dozens of RATS fled out of the engine compartment.. There was a whole nest in the "V" It was a GREAT deal of work repairing all the chewed wiring..
What a coincidence, only last night I was sitting on the step in the twilight watching bats zoom up and down the courtyard. Their aerobatics are amazing. (hmm, wonder if that is where the word comes from?)
I doubt that bats would chew the wiring most of the common species eat small insects before going home for a kip in some nice warm dark place.
Now, rats, whole different ball game. Still if you have bats you are unlikely to have rats. The bats are not that daft.
For me, anything that wants to fly around at night scoffing bugs, is an OK kind of guy
