Default Battery light

Is it normal for battery light to stay on for 5-10 seconds after starting engine?

On my '88 XJS V12 it always took about that long. And the light sorted faded away as opposed to simply turning off.

I thinks it's normal.

Same here. It'll be on the odd second or two before it goes off.
