Bonnet Insulation retaining bar
Good morning, all!
Today's project consists of repairing a bar that crosses under the bonnet and holds the insulation in place. This bar has apparently come loose previously, and the (sketchy) paperwork indicates it was repaired with a tack weld (which I cannot see at a fast glance).... My thought was to simply drill a small hole and secure strap/bar with a rivet? Suggestions welcome, but I do not have handy access to a welder...
Thanks!!

Yes, pop rivetted in my case too. Mind you, if you are not a purist, I recommend removing the OEM blanket and replacing it with this stuff, or similar:

It is very effective as a bonnet (hood) liner and far thinner than the OEM, thus you get better air flow over the engine and lower engine bay temps. Then you can do away with the metal strut.
