A/C Compressor Won't start
Hello All,
I have a 1995 XJS 4.0 Convertable. The air conditioning was blowing hot air so I took it to the mechanic I use for oil changes, etc. He evacuated and recharged the system and swears the compressor is turning. It's a R-134 system and I believe he is mistaken about the compressor being engaged. Other than the front of the compressor remaining stationary when I turn on the A/C with no increase in RPM, is there some other way to prove my point? Sounds silly. With that said how can I troubleshoot the compressor not starting?
Thanks,
Jerry

Jerry,
As he's charged you for an evacuation and regas, and says the compressor is engaging, I'd be minded to take the car back to him and get him to show you how he believes the compressor engages when you press the aircon button.
Cheers
Paul
