Default Cam cover gaskets

If I’ve interpreted Kirbys book correctly there is no need for any dressing on the cam cover gaskets. What do you think?

Depends on which spec gaskets you are using.

If the 6ltr Gortex style, NO.

If the Green/Yellow/whatever cardboard looking gaskets, hell yes.

OR

Like me, NO gaskets at all. Just RTV, and be done with oil leaks.

UUUUM.

That sounds like the Gortex composition style.

Basically, and aluminum strip with a rubbery compound on each side.
