96 xjs conv. I cannot remove my transmission dipstick. I released the flip top handle and attempted to remove but, dipstick did not budge. Any suggestions? I have a transmission leak and I cannot check the fluid level without removing the dipstick. I don't want to damage the dipstick or the tube.

 

You're not gonna break the tube, trust me.

The rubber gasket has seized onto the metal. Give it a good tug, or try twisting it. It's going to require brute force one way or another...
