I was replacing the window switch plastic bracket on the console and removed the console box to make the change. But I saw under the console box was laying on the carpet two cables I think are communication related that I hope you might help me ID. One cable has an RJ45 Modular Inline connector on the end of a cable and the other has a rotating rubber knob. Can anyone tell me anything about them and what they are for?

Mobile phone hook-ups? My XJR has some unused cables in the console for a mobile phone installation

Yep, Doug's on the money as usual The 95 & 96 models were pre-wired for mobile phone hookup.
