Gah! Yours is a tricky example.
The parts catalog *does* show different part numbers for the convertors (you have four on your car, not one) for 1988 vs. 1989 cars.
Whether the difference is significant or not, I can't say. I've spent time underneath both model years and I don't recall any difference....but I wasn't specifically looking for a difference, either.
My gut feeling is that the differences are minor and they'll interchange
Hopefully someone who knows more will chime in.
