Default Are the chrome bumper trim pieces chrome?

or polished aluminum, or something else i don't know about?

just want to be sure before i go spending money on polishes that wont work.

also, has anyone had success with any chrome (or other) polishes to remove the cloudiness from their bumpers?

The bumper chrome is actual chrome.

DrScientist,

If you're doing anything on your chromes, carefully take them off and deal with the rust that will be underneath. Sadly, you might be horrified at the state of them even if they look ok on the top. They all rust, especially where the fixing brackets are welded to the blade before chroming.

thanks rgp, but i was indeed referring to the shiny bits, not the plastic pieces separating the three metal pieces.

paul, thanks for the tip. i'll hunt around underneath. the topside is indeed not pitted or corroded, only cloudy. and upon inspection with mirror and flashlight, the rest of the underside of the car appears to have survived without rust, so maybe i'll be lucky... fingers crossed.
