1990 xjs convertible jag.

1. both doors closed : all 4 lights on, do not go out on delay.

2. Open passenger door: All 4 lights go out on delay.

3. Passenger closed / driver open : All 4 lights do not go out at all

4. Passenger open / driver close to open : All 4 lights go on then off on delay.


Is there a magnetic switch driven off the back of the doors where the door

latches ?

The courtesy light switch is at the front of the door on the A-post.

so all the courtesy and map lights work off the front switch on each door?

thanks, I was chasing gremlins.

I had found a disconnected wire in the drivers door, fixed, then still trouble.

I thought the passenger door was o.k., pulled it last night, shorting out as well.

2 bad switches, all good.
